Our bus stopped for 20 minutes for a short break at stop at 11:00 pm and I got some snacks there.

I reached Thanjavur new bus stand at around 5:30 am. From there I took a local bus to reach old bus stand of Thanjavur which costed me 10 rupee ticked.
I took a hotel near old bus stop which costed me 600 rupees with 24 hour checkin. I freshened up there and took bath and got out for exploring the city.
My first stop was the Brihadeeswarar Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most iconic landmarks in India. The temple's towering vimana (temple tower), adorned with intricate carvings, left me in awe. As I explored the temple complex, I marveled at the architectural brilliance and the spiritual ambience that enveloped the surroundings. This temple is around 1000 years old built by Chola Dynasty king.
In the afternoon I visited Thanjavur Maratha Palace, a splendid structure showcasing a fusion of Maratha and Dravidian architectural styles. The palace houses a remarkable collection of royal artifacts, including paintings, weapons, and musical instruments, offering a glimpse into the city's royal heritage.
Same complex has Sarasvati Mahal Library which is one of the oldest library.
As I strolled through the local markets, I discovered an array of handicrafts, including bronze idols, intricately designed jewelry, and handwoven silk sarees. I couldn't resist taking a few souvenirs back home as a reminder of my unforgettable trip.
