A Serene Escape to Rishikesh: Exploring Yoga, Adventure, and Spiritual Bliss
Welcome to my travel blog, where I share my incredible journey to Rishikesh, the Yoga Capital of the World. Join me as I delve into the serene beauty, spiritual essence, and thrilling adventures that this enchanting city has to offer. From tranquil yoga retreats to heart-pounding river rafting, Rishikesh is a destination that truly captivates the mind, body, and soul.
Day 1: Arrival to Rishikesh
We reached nearest airport to Rishikesh which is Dehradun. From there we took a taxi which costed us 1100 rupees for 4 people, and it took us 1.5 hours to reach Rishikesh from Dehradun airport.
We had prebooked dormitory in live free hostel which costed us 600 rupees/day basis. When we reached it was already 7 pm. We had our dinner in hostel with live performance also happening by singers and band. Whole atmosphere was full of enthusiasm.
Day 2: Spiritual Awakening
Today, I explore the spiritual side of Rishikesh. Morning after breakfast we visited nearby temples and then moved towards bank of Ganga ghat. Sitting beside Ganga was giving us divine feeling.
We explored areas around ghat and moved other side of river using boat.
We had our lunch at Beatles Cafe near Laxman Jhula which gave us panoramic drone view of Ganga
At evening we went to see Ganga aarti at Parmarth Niketan by crossing Laxman Jhula and whole atmosphere was spiritual with chanting of Bhajans and Mantras.
We explored Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula, swaying suspension bridges that connect the two banks of the Ganges.. This is a hanging bridge to cross over Ganga river.
We explored Parmarth Niketan Ashram near ghat which is must visit place.
Day 3: Adventurous Thrills
Rishikesh is not just about tranquility; it's also a playground for adventure enthusiasts. Today, we gear up for an exhilarating river rafting experience on the mighty Ganges. This costed us 1500 rupees for 16km rafting. They took us to the point where we started our rafting with all gears. With the adrenaline rushing through my veins, we navigate through the rapids, feeling the rush of the cool river waters against my skin. It's an adventure I'll never forget.
We had dinner and sweets from Parmarth Niketan canteen which was mouth watering. Food here is very good.
Day 4 : Departure from Rishikesh
We wake up in morning and packed our bags. This was the time to leave Rishikesh. We looked at Maa Ganga last time and departed to Dehradun airport to catch our flights to go back to our hometown.
As my Rishikesh journey comes to an end, I reflect upon the profound impact this city has had on me. From the spiritual teachings to the adrenaline-fueled adventures, Rishikesh has left an indelible mark on my soul. It is a place where one can find inner peace, connect with nature, and embark on a transformative journey. Rishikesh will always hold a special place in my heart, and I leave with a renewed sense of self and a promise to return someday.
